Day 2 of Chemotherapy treatment

The most feared chemotherapy drug, ifosfamide (which is notorious for the nausea and vomitting effects on Samuel), has been applied. Sam slept thru the later part of the 2 hour drip, without vomitting. Praise the Lord. He is now sound asleep, and we pray that it will be a sound sleep all the way to the next morning.

We are now half way thru the 72 hours treatment. Today, Sam's spirit is a little low, that he has become quiet and a little bit withdrawn. Not his usual chatty behavior. He took some biscuits for breakfast, and then refused to take any solid food for lunch and dinner, except for an apple and a kiwi fruit. However, he cooperated with lots of fluid intake, mainly water and some soup.

We pray that the chemotherapy drugs will take their effects to kill all the cancel cells in Sam's body. We continue to believe that God has already healed the boy, and that this treatment process is a journey of faith and trust in the Lord.

Is. 40:31 "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.." has been one of my favourite verses..however, a recent study revealed that I have always omitted the significance of the verses before, like v 28, "the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth, HE WILL NOT GROW TIRED OR WEARY..He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.." even as now Samuel may be a "youth.." who grows "tired and weary" (v.30), we pray that he will continue to go to the Lord to draw on His everlasting strenth and power to press on to eradicate the cancer cells..Praise and thank God that Samuel has less vomitting this time round, and that half the course is over.. we will continue to remember your family in prayer every day..
